Late life fertility challenges for women

Janet Jackson(50), Kelly Preston(48), Halle Berry(47), Elizabeth Edwards(50), Geena Davis(48), and Holly Hunter(47) were all celebrities that had babies late in life. While there is some chance that they were naturally conceived, a majority of these women most likely needed assistive reproductive technologies. Whether they froze their own eggs or embryos when they were younger or used donor eggs or donor embryos more recently, there was a need for invitro fertilization.

According to this article, late life fertility is not as easy as they make it look. There is a false hope given to women when these celebrities are pregnant and they don’t tell you that they might have used donor eggs to get pregnant. So, women believe that they can wait for almost too long to get pregnant on their own. All women have a biological clock that is ticking, you are only born with so many eggs that are ovulated one by one each month.

If you are older and want to start a family or if you are wanting to wait to have a baby later in life, please schedule an appointment at NCCRM and speak with our physicians about what your options are for starting a family.
