If you have lost your sex drive or you’re having fewer erections, it might be due to a low testosterone level. At Least 1 in 4 men over the age of 30 has low T. But here at NCCRM, our physician-led staff specializes in treating low testosterone.
What is Low T?
Low testosterone occurs when a man’s body produces little or no testosterone and has associated signs and symptoms. Testosterone is responsible for building muscle and bone mass, as well as sperm production and sex drive. Normal testosterone levels for healthy men are approximately 300 to 1,000 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). Men with Low T generally have testosterone levels below 300 ng/dL
Signs and Symptoms of Low T
There are several wide-ranging signs and symptoms of low testosterone. You may experience some more than others.
Decreased sex drive (libido) and activity
Fewer spontaneous erections
Incomplete or delayed sexual development
Low or zero sperm count, inability to father children
Loss of body hair, less shaving
Very small or shrinking testes
Change in sleep patterns; insomnia or sleep disturbances
Increased body fat or reduced muscle bulk
Emotional changes; depression or loss of motivation
Testosterone Pellets might be able to help
Our physician-led team here at NCCRM has the expertise to treat our patients with low testosterone by offering Testosterone pellets. These pellets may help to restore testosterone levels in men for 3 to 6 months. This treatment may help to offer a better testosterone replacement therapy than traditional methods. The pellets are fused into very small solid cylinders. They are smaller than the width of a dime. The pellets are implanted under the skin and slowly release testosterone.

Implanting Testosterone Pellets
As a fertility doctor, Dr. Sameh Toma has specialized training to address hormonal function as it pertains to reproduction as well as the issue of infertility. Dr. Toma customizes the best hormonal therapy for each individual patient. This tailored treatment plan starts with a series of tests including lab and blood work. Dr. Toma will then determine the best line of hormone therapy for you.
Implanting the Testo pellets is done as an in-office procedure here at NCCRM. It will take less than 15 minutes. You simply lay on your side as an anesthetic is injected under the skin in your buttocks area. A tiny incision is made (about 3 mm) and an instrument is used to place the pellet under the skin.
Benefits of Testosterone Pellets
Testosterone Pellets may help to provide sustained hormone levels throughout the day, for up to 6 months in men. Many patients who have tried oral forms of testosterone therapy or patches have complained of a fluctuation of hormone levels, causing mood swings and energy fluctuations. A sustained level of testosterone also promotes normally functioning testicles, which improves libido and sexual performance. There is also evidence that testosterone treatment can decrease fat and increase muscle size and strength. A study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism indicates that older men can increase their bone density with testosterone replacement therapy.
