Laparoscopic Surgery for Endometriosis

Endometriosis is when the lining of your uterus (or endometrium) starts to grow on the outside of the uterus. It can occur on ovaries, uterus, intestine and even on or inside other organs. This can cause severe pain and scaring in females, particularly of reproductive age, while also hindering their chances of getting pregnant.

A laparoscopy can be performed to help diagnosis and remove the endometriosis. Endometriomas (ovarian cyst with endometriosis) can be removed along with any visible endometriosis or scar tissue. Surgery will most likely help improve chances of pregnancy, especially in cases of moderate to severe endometriosis.

Contact us to meet with our physicians to discuss if a laparoscopy is right for you. The doctor can work with you to help alleviate your endometriosis pain. If you desire to get pregnant, schedule an appointment with one of our doctors soon to discuss the steps to help you.
