Because of our excellent pregnancy rates, NCCRM offers unique financial programs, including a shared risk for qualifying couples and treatment plans. These programs are designed to ease the financial and emotional concerns often associated with infertility treatment.


What Is Included in a Single IVF Cycle with a Known Donor

When you pursue an IVF cycle with a known donor at NCCRM, the following services are included:

  • Egg Retrieval – safe and effective retrieval procedure for the donor.

  • Culture & Fertilization of Embryos – laboratory fertilization and monitoring.

  • Embryo Transfer – placement of selected embryo(s) into the recipient’s uterus.

  • Anesthesia – provided during the egg retrieval procedure.

  • Advanced Lab Techniques (if needed):

    • Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

    • Assisted Hatching

    • Blastocyst Culture


Monitoring

  • Donor Monitoring: Includes cycle monitoring visits, ultrasounds, and lab work for the donor.

  • Recipient Monitoring: If the recipient is monitored at NCCRM, visits are included. If monitored elsewhere, additional coordination may be needed.


Coordination

  • Cycle Management: NCCRM provides comprehensive coordination of both donor and recipient cycles to ensure timing and communication are seamless.


Medications

  • Medications for both the donor and the recipient are required. These are ordered through a pharmacy and paid directly to the pharmacy. The specific medications and amounts vary depending on individual medical needs.


Possible Additional Costs

Depending on your individual treatment plan, you may encounter some additional expenses, such as:

  • Medical screening and initial workup for donor and/or recipient

  • Semen analysis or freezing

  • Specialized testing (e.g., sperm DNA fragmentation tests)

  • Patient education classes

  • Psychological evaluation

  • Embryo cryopreservation (freezing) and storage

  • Advanced lab techniques, such as PICSI, if recommended by your physician

  • Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), if embryos are frozen for later use

  • Genetic testing (PGD/PGS) for inherited disorders or gender selection (optional)

  • Treatments for ovarian hyperstimulation, if needed

  • Pregnancy confirmation monitoring


Long-Term Considerations

  • Embryo Storage: After the first year, storage of frozen embryos is subject to annual fees.

  • Future Treatments: If embryos are frozen, future frozen embryo transfer cycles can be scheduled as needed.

Dr. Sameh K. Toma, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. is the Medical Director at the North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine (NCCRM), bringing over 30 years of specialized experience in reproductive medicine to patients in the Raleigh area. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, he completed his medical degree and residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
